A Beautiful Christmas Dinner at the Ark

Our family was invited to join an elegant Christmas dinner given by Arcenio and Belkis for the Ark children, staff and their families. It was a clear, cool night (yes, I said cool!) out under the stars where they had set up a temporary shelter beside the new gazebo. It was so neat to see the wonderful lights and Christmas decorations and the kids enjoying them so much.

Some of the children prepared and performed a song for the whole group. There was also a time of prayer in thanksgiving to God.

The food was prepared by a woman from the church (Templo Evangelico) and her daughters. It was a real treat to be served by them! We enjoyed some more traditional Dominican Christmas food. Instead of rice and beans, it was rice with raisins and pork along with some delicious salads.

There was no lack of silliness...

The end of the evening was marked with some fireworks shot off from the middle of the campus. Alfredo was the brave one to light them and get out of the way. There was no lack of excitement as each one was different.

After having the kids pose for some Christmas photos, Arcenio sat down for his turn. He is so much fun. This night was a true celebration for the directors at the Ark. It has been a full year of God's overwhelming blessings!
