This was the scene right in front of our house! It isn't a sight that is uncommon here in Constanza and the Dominican Republic. We have constant electricity problems and I suspect this is part of the problem. People tap into the power lines and run their own. This week one of those lines burned from one end of the street to the other and it took a few days before the local power company could repair the line. This happens a lot. It is a constant battle - one that I will not miss!

The Fight for Electricity
